Filip Kubíček Pushes Club Boundaries in Italy: ŠK Jablonica at the Prestigious Corsa dei Castelli 2026

ŠK Jablonica's October schedule has brought another extraordinary success, this time on the highly competitive international stage. Our talented youth athlete, Filip Kubíček, represented our club colors at the milestone 10th edition of the prestigious Corsa dei Castelli road race in Trieste, Italy. Competing in a strong international field at this World Athletics Label event, he delivered a stellar performance, confirming his excellent form under the guidance of coach Tomáš Zavadil.

On Sunday, October 18, 2026, the coastal city of Trieste came alive with one of the most beautiful and fastest road races in Southern Europe. The Corsa dei Castelli route seamlessly blends rich history with breathtaking scenery—runners start near the fairytale Castello di Miramare and follow a fast, flat coastal path to finish right in the heart of the city at the iconic Piazza Unità d'Italia.

This year's milestone edition was further elevated by the prestigious U23 International Road Race, an elite showcase to which our runner received an exclusive invitation. Filip Kubíček lined up at the start of the 10-kilometer race shoulder-to-shoulder with elite European and global athletes.

Filip managed the tactical and incredibly fast course at a fantastic pace. He crossed the finish line in the main square with a time of 33:12 minutes, earning an outstanding 33rd place in a highly competitive international U23 men's category. This is a wonderful result for ŠK Jablonica and clear proof that our club's systematic youth development program can successfully compete at a European level.

We extend our warmest congratulations to Filip on this brilliant international achievement in Italy, and we thank him for excellently promoting our club abroad. We also thank coach Tomáš Zavadil for his superb preparation! We believe that this success will serve as tremendous motivation for Filip, as well as for our other athletes, heading into the upcoming autumn races and winter training.
