From the youngest runners to the Malacká X. ŠK Jablonica in action all day in Malacky
One event, several generations and ŠK Jablonica colours from the children's races all the way to the main Malacká X. Saturday, 10 October brought a victory for Linda Vozárová, several more top-three finishes for our young athletes, another brave challenge for Šimon Ochotnický against much older runners and a strong performance from Miroslava Zíšková in the adult race.
Malacky's Zámocký Park filled with runners of different generations on Saturday. The traditional Malacká X reached its 43rd edition, while the Malacký kilometer gave the youngest athletes their chance to race earlier in the day.
ŠK Jablonica was represented throughout – and our youngest girls provided one of the highlights of the morning.
Jablonica takes the first three places
The preschool girls' 100 metres belonged to ŠK Jablonica. Linda Vozárová won in 0:20, Vivien Kubisová finished second in 0:22 and Veronika Ochotnická completed a remarkable club result with third place in 0:25.
The three teammates were therefore together again during the awards ceremony. The photographs from Malacky captured something beyond the results as well – plenty of smiles, friendship and the simple joy of racing together.
Sebastian Jozefík added another excellent result. He completed the younger boys' 400 m in 1:13 to finish second among twelve runners.
There were plenty more Jablonica colours out on the course. Diana Ochotnická completed 400 m in 1:28, Laura Ochotnická ran 600 m in 2:43, Anežka Ochotnická finished eighth over 200 m in 0:42, while Šimon Ochotnický completed his 300 m race in 1:06.
Šimon takes on the older runners again
For Šimon, one race wasn't enough.
Born in 2017, he also stepped up to the 1.6 km distance, where the official results placed him among junior runners born in 2007 and 2009.
Despite the huge age difference, Šimon took on the challenge and completed the distance in 7:56.
In this case, the finishing position tells only a small part of the story. A nine-year-old choosing to race 1.6 kilometres against athletes up to ten years older is a much better reflection of the challenge he accepted.
Diana and Laura Ochotnická also tested themselves over the longer distance. Diana finished the 1.6 km in 7:57, while Laura recorded 9:49.
The adults take over
As the children's programme came to an end, ŠK Jablonica's day in Zámocký Park was far from finished.
Miroslava Zíšková produced an excellent performance over 6 km, finishing in 28:58.30. She was 8th overall and third in the women's 45+ category.
Miroslav Ochotnický took on the full 10 km Malacká X. He crossed the finish line in 1:01:30.09, placing 59th overall and 24th in the M40 category.
One race day, one club
Malacky was about more than finishing positions. The photographs tell the rest of the story – young athletes waiting for their races, concentration out on the course, teammates celebrating together and adult runners continuing the club's day over the longer distances.
From the youngest athletes racing 100 metres to the adults completing the full 10 km, there was one common thread throughout Saturday.
ŠK Jablonica.
