Novolhotská Pětka Brought Valuable Experience and Two Podium Finishes for Our Athletes

13/07/2026

The Moravian-Slovak Running Cup continued with another traditional event – the Novolhotská Pětka, held in the picturesque village of Nová Lhota, located at the foot of the White Carpathian Mountains. Around 110 runners of all age categories took part, from the youngest children to adult competitors in the main 5 km race.

ŠK Jablonica was represented by ten starts across youth categories and the main race. For many of our young athletes, it was another opportunity to gain valuable racing experience, compete against athletes from Slovakia and the Czech Republic, and continue their sporting development.

The biggest highlights of the day were two podium finishes.

Šimon Ochotnický earned 3rd place in the boys' 500 m race, while Diana Ochotnická secured another 3rd place in the girls' 800 m event. Both podium finishes reflect the hard work and commitment shown throughout the training season.

Another excellent performance came from Laura Ochotnická, who finished 4th in the younger girls' 500 m race. In the main 5 km event, Miroslav Ochotnický proudly represented the club on the challenging hilly course. The remaining ŠK Jablonica athletes also delivered determined performances and collected valuable racing experience for the upcoming competitions.

The photos from the start, the course and the medal ceremony perfectly capture what youth athletics is all about—determination, enjoyment, sportsmanship and smiles after crossing the finish line. Events like these help young athletes build confidence, develop racing skills and strengthen their passion for athletics.

We congratulate all our athletes on their performances, thank the organisers for another successful event, and appreciate the continuous support of all parents and supporters. We are already looking forward to the next race in the Moravian-Slovak Running Cup.
