ŠK Jablonica at Vnorovská desítka: from our youngest runners to the 10K
On Saturday, 8 August, the Czech village of Vnorovy welcomed runners for the 38th edition of the traditional Vnorovská desítka. ŠK Jablonica was once again represented across several age groups, from our youngest athletes all the way to the main 10-kilometre race.
Vnorovská desítka is one of the traditional events of the Moravian-Slovak Running Cup and offers a varied programme for athletes of all ages. Alongside the main 10K and 5K races, the programme includes children's races, relays and several accompanying events.
Most of the ŠK Jablonica team competed in the youth categories. Laura Ochotnická lined up for the girls' U14 600 m race, finishing 8th in 2:46.
In the girls' 300 m race, Diana Ochotnická crossed the finish line in 1:00, taking 6th place. Two of our young boys also raced over 300 metres. Patrik Polák produced our highest placing of the day with a fine 4th place in 1:00, while Šimon Ochotnický finished 20th in 1:13.
Our younger girls continued the Jablonica representation over the shorter distances. Anežka Ochotnická completed the 200 m race for girls born in 2019 in 44 seconds, taking 10th place. Veronika Ochotnická raced 100 m in the 2021 age group and finished 11th in 28 seconds, while Nicol Oláková took 8th place in the girls' 2022 100 m race with a time of 31 seconds.
ŠK Jablonica was also represented in the main event. Miroslav Ochotnický completed the 10-kilometre race in 1:01:16, finishing 137th overall and 36th in the men's 40+ category.
And because Vnorovská desítka is about more than traditional running events, Miroslav also took part in the accompanying wheelbarrow race, where he finished 4th in 13 seconds.
Vnorovy provided another valuable racing experience for the whole team, bringing our youngest athletes and an adult runner together at the same event. For the children in particular, it was another opportunity to gain racing experience away from home and compete against a large field of Czech and Slovak athletes.
