ŠK Jablonica in Smrdáky: Jozefík takes victory as the club competes across the age groups
The Spa Park Run in Smrdáky provided another full day of racing for ŠK Jablonica on Saturday, 15 August. At the 24th edition of the traditional event, our club was represented from the youngest children's categories all the way to the main race. Sebastian Jozefík's victory was the standout result, while several other athletes also recorded strong finishes.
The spa park in Smrdáky once again provided the setting for an event combining children's races with the main competition for adult runners. ŠK Jablonica was represented across a wide range of age groups, recording fourteen entries in the official results.
The strongest result of the day came from Sebastian Jozefík, who won the boys' 400 m race in 1:20, taking first place in his age category.
In the corresponding girls' 400 m event, Diana Ochotnická finished 6th in 1:32. ŠK Jablonica had two representatives in the boys' 300 m race. Kristián Kubisa finished 5th in 1:16, while Šimon Ochotnický took 6th place in 1:23.
Šimon also appears in the official results over 1500 metres, completing the distance in 7:54.05. Several of our girls likewise took on more than one distance during the event.
Laura Ochotnická first competed in the girls' 600 m race, finishing 5th in 2:58, before also completing the 1500 m in 8:24.85.
Diana Ochotnická added a second appearance to her 400 m race by completing the 1500 m in 6:56.98.
ŠK Jablonica was particularly visible among the youngest girls. Three of our athletes competed in the preschool girls' 100 m race. Linda Vozárová won the event in 20 seconds, Vivienn Kubisová finished 3rd in 24 seconds, and Veronika Ochotnická took 6th place in 29 seconds.
In the younger girls' 200 m race, Anežka Ochotnická represented the club and finished 6th in 50 seconds.
The Jablonica colours were also present in the main 5.9 km race. Miroslava Zíšková completed the course in 25:52.43, finishing 2nd in the women's 45+ category and 33rd overall. Miroslav Ochotnický crossed the finish line in 34:44.43, taking 17th place in the men's 40+ category.
The Smrdáky event therefore brought more than podium finishes. It gave our younger athletes another opportunity to gain racing experience, compete outside their usual environment and gradually move from short children's distances towards more demanding events.
