Strong competition in Piešťany. Young athletes gaining points and experience
A full schedule, multiple disciplines and strong regional competition. The second round of the West Slovak Athletics Association team competition in Piešťany tested young athletes from ŠK Jablonica in demanding conditions.
On Sunday, May 3, 2026, teams from the younger and youngest categories gathered at the athletics stadium in Piešťany. The program included sprints, middle-distance races, jumps, throws and relay events.
ŠK Jablonica was represented by a large group of athletes who collected valuable team points and gained important experience against strong competition.
Notable performances included:
- Nela Ďurišová, who finished first in her 150 m heat with a time of 22.75 s
- Laura Ochotnická, who won her 150 m heat in 23.83 s
- Matej Masár, who crossed the finish line first in his 60 m heat with a time of 9.52 s
- Sára Dosoudilová, who achieved a time of 11.21 s in the 60 m hurdles
- Linda Ďurišová, who completed the 600 m race in 2:23.04
Sebastián Jozefík finished second in his 150 m heat and also placed second in the standing long jump with a distance of 372 cm.
The relay teams also performed well. The girls relay team consisting of Tomanová, Polakovičová, Mikúšková and Ochotnická finished third with a time of 40.98 s.
Strong performances were also delivered by other team members across running and technical disciplines. For many young athletes, the event was another important step in the season and an opportunity to compare themselves with strong regional competition.
