Three podiums and a bold 800 m challenge for ŠK Jablonica at Burčáková šestka

Dolní Bojanovice hosted the 29th edition of Burčáková šestka on Sunday, 20 September. ŠK Jablonica was represented in both the children's programme and the main 6 km race, with Laura Ochotnická, Anežka Ochotnická and Veronika Ochotnická securing three podium finishes for the club.

Burčáková šestka offered a varied programme ranging from the shortest children's races to the traditional six-kilometre main event. ŠK Jablonica colours could be seen over distances from 70 to 800 metres as well as in the senior race.

Laura Ochotnická claimed the first podium for the club, finishing 3rd in the younger girls' 600 m in 2:50. Anežka Ochotnická followed with another strong result, taking 3rd place over 200 m in 44 seconds in a much larger field.

The third podium came from Veronika Ochotnická, who finished 3rd in the youngest girls' 70 m in 19 seconds.

Elsewhere in the children's programme, Diana Ochotnická finished 9th over 400 m in 1:23, while Šimon Ochotnický took 8th place in the 300 m with a time of 1:08.

The 800 m provided an unusual additional challenge. Diana (2015), Šimon (2017) and Laura (2013) lined up alongside significantly older athletes. Diana completed the distance in 3:19, Šimon in 3:43 and Laura in 4:16. As the official results place them in junior and youth categories that do not correspond with their ages, the experience of taking on the longer distance is more meaningful here than their official placings.

ŠK Jablonica was also represented in the 6 km main race by Miroslav Ochotnický, who completed the two-lap course through Dolní Bojanovice in 34:14.33, finishing 32nd in the M40 category and 154th overall.

Burčáková šestka therefore brought ŠK Jablonica three children's podiums, more kilometres in the legs and, above all, another valuable day of racing experience. Congratulations to all our athletes and thank you for representing the club!
