Two victories and four podium finishes for ŠK Jablonica at the Grand Prix of the City of Holíč
The grounds of Holíč Castle belonged to runners on Saturday, 5 September. ŠK Jablonica was represented at the 33rd edition of the Grand Prix of the City of Holíč, with twelve starts producing two victories, two more podium finishes and another valuable day of racing experience for our athletes.
The Grand Prix of the City of Holíč once again brought together several generations of runners. The morning programme began with children's races over distances ranging from 60 to 900 metres, followed by longer distances and the main races. ŠK Jablonica was represented from the preschool categories all the way to the men's 8,895-metre main race.
Sebastian Jozefík delivered the first victory for our club. Competing in the youngest boys' category, he completed the 450 metres in 1:22 to take 1st place.
Another victory followed thanks to Linda Vozárová. She won the preschool girls' 100 metres in 19 seconds. Vivien Kubisová joined her on the podium, finishing 3rd in 22 seconds, while Veronika Ochotnická took 6th place in 27 seconds.
ŠK Jablonica's fourth podium finish came from Tobias Kubisa, who raced to 3rd place in the preschool boys' 100 metres with a time of 22 seconds.
We had two athletes in the boys' 200-metre race. Kristián Kubisa finished 8th in 37 seconds, while Šimon Ochotnický crossed the line in 11th place in 43 seconds.
In the youngest girls' category, Diana Ochotnická completed the 450 metres in 1:36, finishing 10th. Laura Ochotnická competed over the same distance in the younger girls' category, taking 7th place in 1:42.
Anežka Ochotnická represented the club in the younger preparation girls' 150 metres. She crossed the finish line in 32 seconds, taking 9th place.
Šimon Ochotnický also took on a considerably longer challenge in Holíč. In addition to his 200-metre race, he completed the 2,275-metre course in 11:55. The official results list him in the junior category, but given his year of birth, 2017, we do not treat this category designation as relevant and record the performance itself.
ŠK Jablonica was also represented in the main race. Miroslav Ochotnický completed the 8,895-metre course in 48:55.32, finishing 21st in the men's 40+ category and 60th overall.
The Grand Prix of the City of Holíč therefore delivered another strong day of racing for ŠK Jablonica. The victories of Sebastian Jozefík and Linda Vozárová, the third-place finishes of Tobias Kubisa and Vivien Kubisová, and every other start by our young athletes all form part of something equally important – gradually gaining racing experience, confidence and enjoyment from competition.
Congratulations to all our athletes and thank you for representing ŠK Jablonica!
